OFFICER: Central Station lost property. How can I help?
CALLER: Hello. I think I left my backpack on a train yesterday evening.
OFFICER: I'm sorry to hear that. Which train were you on?
CALLER: The six forty from Brighton to London. I got off at East Croydon at about seven twenty-five.
OFFICER: Can you describe the bag?
CALLER: It's a medium-sized dark green backpack. The front pocket has a small white mountain logo, and one of the straps has red stitching.
OFFICER: What was inside it?
CALLER: A grey jumper, two library books, and a black notebook. There was also a metal water bottle, but no money or bank cards.
OFFICER: Do the library books have your name in them?
CALLER: Yes, they should have a label with the name Daniel Reeves and my membership number.
OFFICER: Good. That will help us identify the bag. Could I take a contact number?
CALLER: It's zero-seven-eight-eight, four-two-one, nine-five-six.
OFFICER: We haven't received a matching bag yet, but items from trains sometimes arrive the following day. I'll create a report. Your reference is L-P-three-eight-four.
CALLER: Should I call again tomorrow?
OFFICER: There is no need. We'll send you a text if it arrives. If we find it, you can collect it here between nine and five, or we can post it for a twelve-pound fee.
CALLER: I'd prefer to collect it. Thank you.
OFFICER: You're welcome. I hope we find it soon.
